The Sanicole Sunset Airshow 2021 was my first air show since 2019.
The Sanicole Sunset Airshow starts late in the afternoon and continues into the early evening.
This means the aircraft and helicopters fly with a low sun. And when darkness enters, several of the planes and helicopters use flares.
Although the formal name of this airfield is ‘Leopoldsburg/Beverlo Airfield’, it is also known under the name Sanicole Airport.
Because it is only a few kilometres from Kleine Brogel Air Base, one of the Air Bases of the Belgian Air Force, some of the larger planes that attend this airshow are based there.
